Batch Filming: The #1 Trick to Staying Consistent on Social Media Without Burning Out

Struggling to stay consistent on social media? You’re not alone and you’re not lazy. You’re just doing it the hard way.

Let’s fix that.

The Power of Batch Filming

Batch content creation is hands-down the easiest way to stay consistent, save time, and stop the daily content panic.

Instead of filming one video at a time, set aside one day to record multiple videos. Think of it like a shoot day for your business. You’re already in the zone, your setup is ready, and you’re not wasting mental energy switching between tasks. You can knock out weeks of content in just a few hours.

Why It Works

  • You stop overthinking every single post.
One good shoot day = peace of mind for the rest of the month.

  • You stay visible without being chained to your phone.
Schedule it all in advance and spend your week running your business rather than scrambling for content ideas.

  • You only have to get ready once.
Hair, makeup, lighting, setup… it’s all done in one go. You can prep like you would for a photoshoot and get it all out of the way.

  • You’re more creative when you’re in flow.
No more forcing ideas on random Tuesdays. You get in the groove and ride that momentum.

Real Talk

Posting every day in real-time is unrealistic for most small business owners. You’re juggling 47 other things. That doesn’t mean you need to disappear from social media, it just means you need a better system.

Batch filming gives you freedom. It removes the pressure. And it makes showing up online way more sustainable.

Think about it… just one day of filming will give you all the content you need for one month. And this doesn’t include any carousels or static image posts you will probably be posting throughout the month.

So let’s get into how to set it up and be successful.

Setting Up Your Content Shoot Day When Batch Filming

There is some setup we recommend so that you can batch everything within a few hours. This is the strategy we use for our clients!

  • When you scroll on social media, save anything that inspires you. This could be a trend you want to hop on, a good point someone made that you want to expand on, or music you want to use for Broll videos.
  • Plan 15-25 videos to shoot. Rather than trying to scroll through all the videos you saved and come up with an idea on the spot, carve up 2 hours to plan out your content. Come up with hooks you want to use, shot lists you’ll need, and a general talking point list for any videos that will be talking to the camera.
  • Have a few different outfits to change into throughout the day.

Tools You May Need

When we go to a batch content shoot, we bring the following tools. These are not required but they make the flow faster:

  • Tripod
  • Clip on mics (if you plan to be out with background noise while shooting and need to talk to the camera)
  • Light (this can be natural light, a ring light, a light that clips onto your phone or any other light source that works best for your content)
  • Chargers (for your phone, camera or whatever you film on)
  • Scheduling Tool to schedule out all your content in advance

How We Do Our Batch Filming for Clients

Here’s how we lay out a typical shoot day for clients that you can copy!

  1. We film about half the videos in one outfit and then change outfits to film the rest
  2. We organize the videos by type: talking heads, broll, lip syncs, skits, etc. Then we film one type at a time. This makes sure when you’re talking to the camera, you’re in that mindset. So all the talking heads in the first outfit are filmed back to back, then we film all the lip syncs in that same outfit and so on. Once we change outfits, we then do the same in that second outfit.

Tips to Make The Day Easier

  • Have someone there to help you with batch filming. It’s easier than trying to do it all yourself.
  • Have a shot list of all the Broll you’ll need so you can just go down the list.
  • Have a project management tool for the content that you can check off as you film so you can see your progress and what is left.
  • Film longer content than you’ll need. For example, if you need a video of you eating lunch, keep filming for 10 seconds. If you need a video of you working on your computer, keep filming for 10 seconds. The longer the video, they more you can chop it up and use it in different content.
